Our church building is used extensively during the week, both during the day and in the evening, for numerous community activities many of which are run by organisations that are non-Christian and are not part of the church. In spite of all this activity the church decided that we couldn’t expect people to come to our building to get the services they needed but that we were obliged to take these services out into the communities in which we were called to serve. This prompted our activity on the estate that began in 2009.
In 2012 we helped form the Ivy Partnership, and in 2015 the partnership opened the Ivy Community Hub.
The Ivy Villiage in Chippenham represents an intrinsic part of the mission and evangelism strategy of our church and our stated aim is to help address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the community through the establishing of relationships with both residents and professional organisations and the creation of a permanent presence.
Our ultimate goal is to help the community in building a community centre.
